Prior to the formation of Kitt McArthur Education, Elaine worked for over eight years as the Regional Manager for the South of England for one of the largest UK guardianship companies.
Elaine has extensive experience working as an educational guardian with families across the globe, supporting students at school both academically and pastorally, to ensure they are happy, settled and making the most of their opportunity to study in the UK.
Elaine founded Kitt McArthur to offer a new, academic style of guardianship, using her experience as a teacher and educator to help families and their children make the most of their time at school. She is inspired to help families find the right school for their son or daughter and to work alongside her students to ensure their academic pathway is successful – while also focussing on their pastoral care and well-being.
“I have often been asked for guidance or advice from my families about their son or daughter’s education – this came naturally to me as a teacher. As an educational guardian, I want to make sure my students are happy and thriving at school and balance that with their academic goals.”
Elaine has significant experience preparing students for entrance examinations, GCSEs, A levels and University Application. She has worked with students at the UK’s leading boarding schools including Winchester College, Millfield, Marlborough, Bryanston, Canford, Sherborne, Clifton, Badminton, Westminster, Roedean, Royal High Bath and dozens more. Her knowledge of and insight into schools across the UK, and the relationships she has developed with schools, means she is well placed to help your son or daughter.
Her students come from all over the world including Russia, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, Mainland China, South America, Malaysia, Africa and Europe.
Elaine has worked with the Tazaki Foundation in Japan, supporting their students on their world-renowned scholarship programme as they study at boarding schools in the UK, aiming for Oxbridge university places. She also has experience advising and supporting music scholars at Wells Cathedral School.
Elaine was invited recently to address the Boarding School’s Association on “Good Guardianship” and is a qualified Designated Safeguarding Lead and trainer in child protection and safeguarding.
“Once your son or daughter has been accepted at school here, it is important that you have a guardian who is close to school and on hand in case of emergency at all times – I appreciate how difficult it can be for parents who are many miles away from the UK when their child needs help.
We offer a bespoke guardianship service that is responsive and caring with a genuine interest in your child’s welfare. "My role as a guardian, is to be a mentor to your son or daughter and an advocate for them to ensure they maximise the wonderful opportunity they have ahead of them.”
